YAY on the restaurant list!! (I wish you would come across the Park and do one for Carnegie Hill next because we are very bored with our standbys!). And happy birthday!
What a great spring menu! (I plan to make when my young adult kids + girlfriends come over this weekend -- many vegetarians in that group!) I so appreciate when you put together menus. I love to cook, but find menu planning for entertaining very stressful. I've leaned on your menus many times, so thank you!!
Wonderful list of UWS places... Thank you for all of the recommendations!! (Kossar's is simply amazing!)
We've been big fans of El Mitote (next to Magnolias) and Covacha (next to Shake Shack). Super fresh food, amazing atmosphere and really great people working there.
Happy Belated Birthday! 🎉 Your newsletters never disappoint. Can’t wait to try out the recipes you’ve shared (the berry ricotta cake sounds AMAZING) and I am very curious about the marinated hard boiled eggs. Thank you for sharing!
saving that dinner party recipe! Also, I wrote about Malaparte in a small book on NYC I published with Reaktion years ago. So glad they are still going strong, was happy to see them in your reccs!
Yikes, we can’t count on ramps like that if they continue to be unsustainably overharvested. Climate change is decimating the ramp-friendly ecosystems where I live (NW Wisconsin), and irresponsible foragers who sell to markets and restaurants and dig up every single bulb they find are a huge problem.
Happy birthday! Your neighborhood post struck my heart because my second NYC apartment + the first ever place I lived alone was a tiny studio across from Symphony Space on Broadway and 95th; and later I worked for years on 86th between Columbus and CPW. Glad to see some familiar places are still going strong!
Love you & your newletter so much. Living vicariously through you from still winter Seattle. Anyway did you substitute asparagus for the peas in the pasta? Curious how you changed the recipe. Thanks!
the marinated hard boiled egg recipe is also following me and is on my list to make next week!

You're in the right place. Thank you, Laura!
It’s fun to read about your creative process, thinking about and iterating your menu.
Must make that bucatini!

Happy Birthday Jenny! I used your guide last week for a quick trip to New York. It was so helpful.

The sight of you with that sundae is divine. Happy birthday, Jenny.
thank you Sarah!

Thanks for this, Christine. Is there a place where you recommend we read more about it?
That is THE fattest asparagus I have ever seen. Happy birthday, Jenny!!
Thank youuuu

I had a few frozen peas, so I whirled them with some cooked asparagus, basil, parm, and mint for the pesto.
